Divorce is an emotional vacuum and my hope is that couples can resolve their differences. Many times a resolution is not an option. If you are one of the many unfortunate couples who seek legal representation, then I would highly recommend calling Carolyn. She is articulate, understanding, and a straight shooter. She made herself available anytime I had questions (and you will). She was an outside of the box thinker and navigated a complicated situation that prevented my daughter from being relocated to another state. I am now a single father with joint physical custody and have my daughter 3 nights a week. Dividing finances, property, and all the other taxing requirements required by the state were all explained, handled, and reviewed with fairness. (Hindsight is 20/20). When going through this process Carolyn was not only a valuable legal asset she is also a mother and wife that understands the importance of an active and involved family unit. I consider myself a level-headed individual in stressful situations, but trust me, you are going to need someone like Carolyn who understands the psychological part of this process as much as the legal aspects. One of the most eye-opening statements made to me at the very beginning of this process is that even if a divorce begins with both side stating they want amicable resolve that usually derails, and you are going to need a solid professional. That statement could not have been more true. I recently used Carolyn Torres-Mabe as my divorce attorney and I give her my highest recommendation. Upon my initial consultation with Carolyn I explained my objectives and she was very supportive while at the same time giving me very practical advice on the best way to proceed. My goal was to avoid court and reach a settlement agreement. With Carolyn’s extensive experience in Dekalb County Family Law she was able to recommend an excellent mediator, which we used (per insistence from my soon to be ex-wife) and give me advice on how the particular judge assigned to my case has typically handled matters in the past. In the end, we were able to reach a settlement agreement that was fair to both sides and was as a better final outcome than I was expecting.
